The products and services we provide are actually much less important than what we do. We're in the business of fetching tourism business and we use a variety of approaches to get the job done.

We offer a wealth of experience in marketing tourism-dependent organizations. We've successfully executed projects with budgets large and small. After all, sometimes a project requires a 'Lexus' approach. And sometimes a Yugo will do just fine.

The way we see it, there is more than one way to accomplish any goal. Our job is to catch your vision and help you devise a plan that best fits your organization's goals, style and budget. Our goal is to work with you for the best return on your marketing investment.

"Keith is the only guy I know who could have gotten the search results we have without pay-per-click. Charge us whatever you want to keep us there. I know you'll be fair and we're amazed at the results. Why aren't you guys making big bucks in the city?" ~B.H., Portland, OR

This is great!" ~ N.S., via email

We believe...

  • in building solid, clean, fast-loading and well-functioning sites.
  • that just because we can do some neat new trick, doesn't mean we should.
  • in taking advantage of the latest technology without being so cutting edge that your site is inaccessible.
  • the more site visitors enjoy their time on your site, the more likely they are to buy your products and services.
  • the site owner is always in the driver's seat of the project.
  • smart site owners give us the freedom to use what we know to make their site highly marketable and highly user-friendly.

"I must let you know that during my hopping I was stopped in my tracks by your website! Not sure this time what caught my eye and made me "really" take a look around, but I did and you have a beautiful store. The amount of fabric and the way it is displayed is astounding! ...I just had to let you know how impressed I was." ~S.C.,via email

What does it cost?

We aren't secretive about our rates or site costs, but we don't post much of that information here on our site because each job is unique.

Imagine yourself standing in a huge electronics store. There are 10" black and white televisions which depend on their antennae, the 'Yugos' of the TV world. There are also movie-house size HDTV screens that accept cable, digital cable, VHS, DVD, and cook you breakfast in the morning. We call these the 'Lexus' of the TV world.

Without knowing whether you want a Yugo or a Lexus, it is pretty tough to tell you what your site will cost. That said, in general terms, we suggest you consider the following expenses as a starting point:

  • Site design, home page development. Minimum of $500, typically about $650, can be much higher.
  • Subsequent page development. Can be as low as $25 per 'cookie cutter' page or much higher for pages with custom animation and/or special effects. Budget $100 per page.
  • Domain Name Registration. Budget $16 for the initial registration and $16/year for renewals.
  • Hosting. This is paying the guy who runs the computer that keeps your site connected to the internet. Most small business sites are $160/year with an initial setup of $35. This buys you 100MB of space, online statistical reports, up to 10 email boxes, 100 email aliases, and logfile statistics.
  • Search Engine Marketing. Please download our current plan for most small to mid-sized sites. (Give us a woof if you can't open a pdf and we'll email you a different format).
  • There are many special scripts, effects and other customizations available that would be dizzying to list here. Give us a woof for a no-obligation personal quote.

Click around and enjoy our portfolio. Then try to find our clients in the search engines. See for yourself what we can do. Then give us a woof and let's have a cuppa that famous (infamous?) Washington coffee and discuss your project.

"Wow -- [Geek Internet Development] did an excellent job of turning this over so quickly with so few hiccups! I'm impressed. I've been through this sort of thing before and it can be pure chaos for the hosting company. Pass my thanks along to them, and you, for maintaining such high standards and quality of service." ~C.M., Astoria, OR

"I loved your [kitefestival.com] website, very fresh, bright and easy to use. I'll be there!!! ~Darlene (via email)

"We have received tremendous feedback from several people who like our web site and the ease in which it is designed to navigate and is packed full of all the information they need to secure a fishing trip." ~S.S., Seattle, WA

Web Maintenance

"Pat and I both commented on how nice it is to work with you....We are amazed at your level of knowledge and ability to communicate it in way that is so understandable to us novices." ~M.N., Chehalis, WA

The thing is, websites are never really 'done'. We include a certain amount of time, after we build a site, for tweaks after launch. But then what?

Some web developers charge a monthly maintenance fee and take care of your ongoing updates. There's nothing wrong with that; depending on your needs, it could be a really good value for you. The thing is, we've found that most folks don't really understand what they are buying in these monthly agreements. Consequently, they don't use service they've paid for and are frustrated with extra fees when they need work that isn't covered in the policy.

We prefer to only bill you when we do something for you. When you need updates, call or email. If you would like us to pre-quote the work, we're happy to do so. We're pretty darned efficient. After all, our business is putting money in YOUR pockets.

We bill in 15-minute increments, so it's the most cost-effective to send us a chunk of work at a time, rather than a nibble here and there. Get the most out of those 15 minutes!

If you're a beachdog hosting customer, you have several services at no additional charge:

  • Domain Maintenance. At your request, we will renew your domains on your behalf and bill you for reimbursement. This saves you from keeping track of domain renewals and sorting through all the phishers who send you email and paper bills that look like renewals but are actually transfer agreements.
  • Statistics. You'll have online statistics available to you and we'll give you information on how to interpret them. Optionally, you can schedule consultation time to learn how to use this information to your best advantage.
  • Site Monitoring. While we don't test every page on a daily basis, we monitor changes in the web community which may affect your site. If the rules of the web change, we adjust your site accordingly, at no additional charge to you.
  • Server Monitoring and Upgrades are just a part of the ongoing services that are yours in return for your trust in us.

The web world is complex and each site has its own needs. Whether maintenance of your site means a simple update of text on a page, or aggressive behind-the-scenes search engine marketing, we keep you in the driver's seat. Our job is to educate and provide options. You make an educated decision and watch us give you the best bang possible for your hard-earned buck.

"I cannot tell you how much I enjoyed reading your newsletter and visiting your wonderful website.I felt so inspired and felt like I had had a vacation by the time I was through. I am definitely due for a trip for Long Beach...and this might be just the lure I need...Thank you!" ~J.J. (via email)
